This is a new venture which was prompted by a small child appearing from 'somewhere' two years ago or so and after being 'brain-washed' by 'Thomas the Tank'.... was heard to refer to me as 'Trains'..!?? The next thing was him discovering the 'rubber' 7/8" scale line in the garden. His hearing is very much better than mine and I believe that hearing 'Jenny' blowing off steam made him somewhat apprehensive approaching live-steam engines, though my battery driven locomotives cause no problems. This scruffy little tramway is situated 'somewhere' in Worcestershire near a big town and it main job is to take people to work as cheap as possible. This is achieved by laying old scaffold planking across the side's of old coal wagons. Possible future patrons are advised to bring their own umbrella's and wear BIG wellingtons!
It is now October and out comes all the bedding plants! Having a trouser-less Assistant Porter around in the garden one has to be carefull about discarded gardening tools! On looking up after sweeping around the glass house I notice our employee has got his hand on my secateurs and was attemting to prune a hanging conifer. He was had had a 'hack' before I could stop him....Its called "Learning the hard way"....for me! (29th October 2011)
Out in the 'sticks' is a wild corner of the tramway where various types of animals live! Here you see the Assistant Porter 'feeding' two of them...Some sort of vegetable matter is being inserted into the Alligator's mouth, whilst the Lion..(50p from a charity shop in Hereford!) seems to like plain old dirt!
Its now May 2011 and sunny days have arrived! Here is the Assistant Porter making sure the sole first class passenger...(the yellow chicken) is standing comfortable on the N.U.T. brake wagon! Notice the other passengers have been refused travel rights! (08/05/2011)
Well, early spring approaches and the garden is less cold and the 2011 N.U.T. operating season starts up! Here we are at Reynoldston Junction yard with a line of skip chassis held up by the hand of the assistant porter...a novel way of shunting?? He is now getting the hang of operating the point levers at the yard entrance. His regular word is still "more" as regards to train make-up....(04/04/2011)
Here are two pictures of the current N.U.T. rolling stock in all its glory. At the rear you can see the brake wagon with old Joe in attendance plus a load of....nuts! That's right, one of the company customers runs a nut factory. (no pun intended) The next wagon is a open wagon with space for general goods or more nuts of one sort or another... The passenger wagon can be seen with the customers all waving their arm's about! They really are 'cheap' as well costing one pound each from a local 'pound-shop'. The other picture is of the finished 'Jennifs' helping out at the 'Reynitium' mine!
