All the pictures here are of sunny day's however often the industrial railway man was subject to the 'other side of the coin' so to speak weather-wise. Here is 'PECTIN' with a load of mineral skips on the way to the mine.....its a bitter, raw day as well. (22/12/2010)
Here is a cross section of picture's from my line showing the day to day running of a busy tramway. The pictures change quite a lot as things are being changed all the time on the line.....all that 'imagination' mentioned earlier working overtime....
Here are two NEW picture's of the lower retaining wall mentioned elsewhere on my web site which is referred to as 'The Dodford Hills Ledge' The upper left one shows a mineral train double-headed on the ledge. The lower right picture shows the OTHER side of the retaining wall....just the right height to lean on!....and 'gather moss' so to speak and also to watch trains passing by! (Plus 'The Shed'!)
Its now February and its getting colder! Here's 'Jenny' approaching the gorge bridge with a (very) short goods train. The picture includes a nice steam plume....
