Newbold Urban Tramway......Society!
Company Motto...."More!".......!??
This new page has been created to tell you about a new venture that T.A.C.T. has entered into! There comes a time when a feller finds he has a grandson and one day this small stubby kid is going to say,... "eeerrr, Bill...(I hate the word...'Grandad'...).... can I play with your trains?? ...Being an ex. boy scout and all that 'Be Prepared' stuff brings me to the 'Newbold Urban Tramway Society' or ...N.U.T.S. to you! (The 'Newbold' bit is the in-laws family name) This small tramway will soon be carrying all you poor souls who still have to go to work ...to work!... (Ho! Ho!! Ho!!!)... (sorry about that!)...From whatever urban area you live in....( probably in old coal wagons) It will also be carrying various goods to make a profit. It was going to be made in 16mm scale but small fingers might get muddled over the controls resulting in a 'pile-up' and the sudden appearance of....'Nasty Newbold', a tantrum! So the scale better be 15/16ths. scale. I already have a driver ready for the train, It's a slightly crazy looking panda with a large exotic sword in his hand...99p. from the local pound shop. The sword might be usefull for clearing the pigs off the line! There is also a crocodile in soft plastic (also 99p.) that will make a good wagon load....and possibly eat the pigs! And a small girl who might be a guard... (again 99p.!) Early days yet but I better get N.U.T. up and running so the stubby little kid wont ruin my stock...
After the bad winter England got a spell of fine weather in early April and the owner of N.U.T. paid a visit to the jam company! As N.U.T. do not have locomotives and rolling stock (in the shed awaiting action) the owner used our No.2 to get some practise in. He was highly excited by it all though.... I cannot answer any questions why he is holding a old plastic milk two pint container!! (proberly to smack the engine if it stopped working....) No.2 needed a battery charge-up at the end of the day! Well, here is the first picture of some of the bodies that make up this weird little tramway... Pictured above is the weird panda and his exotic sword, the crocodile...dig those teeth!...and little Annie who might be a future engine driver like the crazy panda....(14/03/2010)
Well!....On a trip to Hereford (by train naturally!) I called by at the numberous charity shops in that city and had a root in their 'cheap toy' baskets....I found the pictured lion in a cancer research charity shop and it cost me just 50p. I see the lion in a wagon as a 'active' load. In the mean time the crazy panda is flexing his muscle's and waving his over large sword about! (22/3/2010)
Half a french loaf and a watering can!
A sunny Sunday in June and the owner of the N.U.T. comes to visit. He seems much taken with pouring water! Here he is watering the new Reynoldston Junction yard and the 'Reynitium' mine area.... plants. Why he has half a french loaf (much nibbled) remains to be seen! (13/06/2010)
