Good honest labour....or not!

The back~bone of any industrial 18" gauge tramway is the staff! Without decent co~operation from the staff any concern soon goes under... Our company photographer has been out and about recently taking pictures of the staff at their labours....This met at the start with some doubt but after a while the staff relaxed...after all "the union will look after us!"....

Here we are at the Dodford Hills permanent way hut and its 'breakfast time'... As you can see the bacon is in the pan and the 'cawfee' is poured! The conversation topic seems to be if its worth throwing a lump of coal at your photographer...who now starts running.... QUICK! (14/06/2011)

Further up the line the photographer arrived at Rhubarb End just as the weighting staff was settling down for 'five minutes'....Sid and Bert are heard to mutter..."if we ignore him he might go away...or we could set the dog on him?!"...

Our photographer was dropped ...('pushed'??) off a passing goods train at the Reynitium mine as he was told they are bone idle there and worth a good picture! Here you can see the mine foreman, Fred Davies suggesting to Jim Bonehill that the photographer might like a trip down the mine....one way! Time to depart I think...
